A tribute..
This is a tribute to Mr.Sundarrajan who has been Ilaiyaraaja's assistant music director for the past 20 years or so. He passed away in his home in Madras day before yesterday.
Mr. Sundarrajan was in-charge of the vocals section and maintaining the tune tapes library. He would write down the swaras for the melody of the song after Ilaiyaraaja finishes composing it and has been Ilaiyaraaja's able assistant, well aware of the Maestro's needs. He would also sit down with the singers and rehearse with them before the recording starts. He was also present during the recent Maestro Live-in concert, handling the chorus section.
My condolences to him. May his soul rest in peace.
